School Report arrives in the mail

A very 'formal' envelope arrived in the mail today with Joshua's School Report for his first year at Scots College! In brief, all students are graded for their achievement in each subject. In addition to the Grade given, the teacher in charge of the class subject also gives a brief on each student. Grades are as follows:

E : Exemplary
C : Commendable
S : Satisfactory
M : More effort needed

Joshua's received four E's in English, Mathematics, Inquiry and Visual Arts. He received three C's in French, PE and Music.

Class Teacher's Comment (signed by Trudi Bell):
"Joshua has been an absolute pleasure to teach and has completed a super year's work in Year 2. It has been particularly pleasing to see his confidence continue to grow this semester, allowing him to participate more actively in the classroom. Challenging himself to take risks has made Joshua more resilient. He has a super work ethic and always works quietly and purposefully. This work ethic and his caring nature earned him a well-deserved Honours Card.

Joshua has progressed well across all curriculum areas. It is important that Joshua constantly monitors his reading to ensure that it makes sense and, if it doesn't, he needs to self-correct by re-reading.

Joshua behaves with integrity having a firm sense of fairness and honesty. He shows appreciation and respect towards his peers and will be a super role model for younger Junior Syndicate boys when he moves up to Year 3."

Principal's Comment (signed by Peter Cassie):

"Joshua has completed his year well and should feel justifiably proud of the progress and achievements he has made. He has embraced school life fully and has become increasingly confident, thus ensuring he is well prepared for the next level of his education.

Joshua is a most valued member of his generation who looks to get involved in all that is on offer. He will enjoy the further academic challenges and leadership opportunities available in 2011 as he prepares to move to the senior level of the Junior Syndicate. I am confident that Joshua will respond with the necessary enthusiasm and due diligence required."

Wow Josh, what a great Report - you should feel so proud of yourself.
