Phew, school holidays! Whilst it is a wonderful time to make some magical memories with your child, it is also a time to run yourself ragged and be exhausted - and I am guilty of both today!
Picture this .... up bright and early to go and pick up Tomo & Sean and take them to see Monsters vs Aliens at the movies (a rather loud in-your-face movie with lots of monsters & glupe filling the screen - a real 'boysie' movie!); after that they all got bouncy balls and bounced their way around the food court downstairs and finished off with good ole McDonald's for lunch; dropped Sean off home and then Tomo came over for the rest of the day.
And the afternoon flew like this .... jumping on the trampoline, playing hideout in the tree house, racing the remote cars around the school park (let's also not forget the fact that last night at 8.30pm we were down at the park in the dark racing the car - why ... because the jolly thing has lights!); a bike ride down to the dairy for a treat (with Huddy racing the boys) and then a further bike ride down to the jetty to eat the treat; home and a small reprieve whilst they played a computer game (car racing again - no surprises there !!); dinner with Daddy and then off to the swimming pool for an evening swim (and at that hour we were the only ones in the kiddies pool !) and then we deposited Tomo home just after 8pm.
Josh now in a deep sleep .... Huddy exhausted and already on his blanket ... Daddy at the RSA playing pool .... Mummy about to fall asleep at the computer .... goodnight kiwi zzzzzzzzzThanks Tomo for a lovely day - you and Josh have a very special bond. As you said in the car today ... "Josh, you are my best friend, we were babies together, we went to creche together .... who did you like at creche, I wish we went to the same school" - I just kept driving the car and blinked back the emotion feeling very privileged to be present to hear all this heartfelt chat between the boys. We so need to keep this friendship alive.
