We recently had a practise run against the Slammers but today we had our first 'official' game against them. Fortunately the Mustangs started to find their mojo again with some of their play in the last 10 minutes of the match looking like real rugby. The conditions were a challenge however ... wet and drizzly ... and the ball was so slippery at times. The weather sharply reminded the parents and supporters of what we all have in store in the months ahead - oh dear! The score today was a draw - 4 tries each side.
After-match report said "Joshua was tidy at half-back in the second half and also 'copped' it a few times from the Slammers coming through the lineouts. However he never failed to secure the ball and moved it on. He was always in place in set and broken play"
All I can add is ... let's hope for a warmer, sunnier and cleaner game next week!

A rather wet and muddy 'muster' of Mustangs at the end of the game, but at least they are still smiling!
