A soft green pitch, sunny & a light breeze

Ahhh, a gorgeous morning for rugby - the Mustangs were happy and rearing to go and the parents were also happy to stand in the sun and watch them play ! And what a great return to form. After being a bit 'rumpty' last week in the cold, wet and windy conditions, the Mustangs decided to show the Cougars what they can really do. Today we played on a quarter field so that made the Mustangs work harder to find space.

The Mustangs crept in and won 11-10 - phew !

And the after-match report from the coach ... "Captain Joshua Turnbull was a good captain. He did all the right things a captain has to do, like the coin toss, leading the team onto the field, and awarding the Player of the Day to the other team. He also played a captain’s game, playing on even though he got a bang. He worked hard on defence with the second highest total of rips at 7. He also followed the coach’s instruction to take the ball and run flat out to the other end from behind the Mustangs’ try-line for the most awesome try of the game!! Good on you Captain Joshua!

PS Mummy & Daddy could not believe it when Josh ran from one end of the field to the other without being ripped and then scored the try. Everyone whooped and shouted ... and Mummy felt like bursting into tears, it was such an amazing moment !

Everyone line up behind Captain Joshua

Let's not forget the Mustang Mascot !
