Remember ... remember ... the 5th of November.
And we will this year because we joined up with Andy and Georgia and went over to the local bay. They have an annual gathering at Guy Fawkes and light a huge bonfire down on the beach, set up a hot dog stand, throw in a lolly scramble for the kids - and the highlight is the 'guy' making competition. Some had obviously taken it quite seriously with their design and creations but others had simply had a bit of light-hearted fun. All 'guys' were lined up and a winner was announced before they set light to all the guys - much to the children's delight ! People milled around with a hot cup of coffee in their hand, or a glass of wine, there were a few fireworks ... all in all, it was a gorgeous evening without a breath of wind and a lovely way to just meet up with the locals - another reminder of just how special it is to live in, and feel part of, a community.
