Josh has been having a bit ot trouble with one boy in particular and it dates back to last term. Mummy did go and see the 'bully' last term and had a 'chat' and although it improved for a while, it has got worse of late. The bulllying is of a physical nature, a karate kick, a thump, a hit on the head (telling Josh he deserves to be hit on the head because he is too tall!) and then the other day he clipped him so hard behind the ear, Josh came home with quite a 'lump' behind his ear. In saying that, this boy bullies other boys as well, not just Josh, but Josh seems to get more than his fair share!
It is so hard to know what to do at times like this but above all, our children need to always feel safe .... Josh is a sensitive little boy by nature and we want to encourage him to be able to stand up for himself, but there are times that we believe that parents have to step in ... this was one of those times. So yesterday Mummy spoke to the bully's teacher. The bully was siting in the classroom and knew as soon as he saw myself and Josh walk in, that it was about 'him'. The teacher was amazing, she listened, she understood, she reassured both Josh and I that she would speak to the 'bully'. The following day, the teacher got the bully to write a letter of apology to Josh and hand-deliver it to him and apologise to him. This was greatly reassuring to Josh .... and we are forever hopeful that this has nipped it in the bud.
