Mr Hudson goes to Massey University

We would love to tell you that Mr Hudson is off to Massey University to further his studies, at the end of which he will graduate as Dr Hudson. However, that is sadly not the case .... no, poor wee Hudson has almost severed his cruciate ligament in his back right knee. As the vet said ... Hudson is now paying for his youth (I could have sworn he was talking about me!) as Hudson is well recognised for his pirouetting on the beach where he spins in circles. Obviously this has caused undue stress on his back knee as he turns one way only when he spins !

They had hoped to do the operation here in Wellington but because Hudson is so active they feel they need to do the 'larger' operation which involves a bone graft and then re-setting the knee so it is positioned slightly back to take the pressure off the knee itself.

So ..... Mummy is driving him up this morning where he will stay for 5 days (awful thought ... Mummy is not looking forward to the farewell) and then we expect him to be in a leg brace for say 10 days with very limited mobility and then easy-moderate exercise for the following 8 weeks (with NO pirouettes!) - that's all very well, try telling Hudson that !

So for all your doggy-lovers out there .... a few prayers for Hudson ... please.
