"Beat the Recession Bash"

Granny Cranney came in to spend time with her special grandson tonight so Mummy & Daddy could dance the night away down at the local school. The PTA put on a 'Beat the Recession Bash', hired a GREAT band and put on a light supper and an open bar. There was the option to 'dress for $10 or less' but otherwise the choice was to come looking 'normal'.

Yes you guessed it .... at 5.30pm Daddy decided to be creative! Some years ago we had hosted a dinner party where all our friends were given a country to represent and came dressed accordingly and again the budget was $20 per outfit. Paul represented South Africa and had gone shopping with Grandma and purchased some leopard print fabric and Grandma had sewn some shorts, a sleeveless jacket and a pill-box hat!

Daddy still has 'all' his outfits in his own dress-up box so combined the leopard print shorts & hat with a .... coffee sack !!! He introduced himself as the 'bag or sack boy'.

Of the 160+ attendees only 5 people dressed up - and Paul sincerely was by far the most creative ... the most unusual ... and the most noticed ! But we all know he has no inhibitions socially and carried it all off beautifully and spent the entire evening whisking Mummy around the dance floor.

We had a ball and danced our socks off !!!!
