Wild and Crazy Wellington

Wellington was enjoying a lovely calm and sunny day until early evening when, within minutes, we were hit by what some are calling a "mini tornado" that ferociously hit the city and then passed through 20 minutes later. 140+ kilometre per hour winds lashed the city, boats were capsized, roofs torn off and 30 foot tall trees toppled - let alone all the other damage. Fortunately we were at home but, even so, it was rather frightening.
The crazy thing though was 1 hour later when we were driving into town, the harbour was like a milk pond and Josh and I sat in the car and watched a most beautiful rainbow appear and stretch its way across the sky almost as an apology for what had passed through earlier - creepy !
