Our Swimming Champ

Scots Prep School had their swimming sports today. It was such a well organised event. All the boys sat with their respective 'Houses' and they all had their own house chant - again the competitive nature was loud and clear, each house was out to win! Years 1, 2 and 3 all raced against each other. Joshua had entered the freestyle and backstroke races.

Well .... in his heat, Joshua came FIRST in freestyle with a time of 34:97 and FIRST in backstroke with a time of 37:25. and then at the 11th hour he chose to be a late entrant in breaststroke - a discipline he had never done - and came in last BUT happy.

Mummy and Daddy were so proud and a little emotional. As Daddy said "my heart just grew 3 sizes". We were so proud that Joshua went out there and gave it his very best - and what was even more overwhelming was his attitude which was clearly shown when he chose to be a late entrant in breaststroke knowing that he had not practised that at all. Whilst he was well behind all the others in that race, every time he 'bobbed' up he had a smile on his face.

He couldn't wait to phone Grandma, Granney Cranney and Aunty Jellybean with his results.

As for the House Results and the individual Year champions, we will find out on Monday so watch this space.

We are so ... so .... so proud of you Joshua, you are such a star!

Congratulation notes in Joshua's bag this evening from Mrs Bell and the PE Teacher

About to enter the water for his backstroke race

One race down ... and two to go !

A little solitary figure sitting on the chair waiting to be called for his race

Joshua's impressive very first breaststroke race - so brave to even enter !

One very proud Daddy who said ... "my heart grew 3 sizes today"
