Mustangs 45 : West Jaquers 30

It was an awesome win for the Mustangs today. Conditions were unbelievable - rainy, muddy and cold - and it deteriorated even further s the game went on and all the parents were huddled under umbrellas in their gumboots - shivering and pleading that we perhaps skip the break at half-time and keep the Mustangs playing so we could get home!
Joshua played a full game at halfback today - probably a good position for him as he was a little removed from some of the pile-ups !

After-match report from the coach quoted...

"Joshua Turnbull was a consummate halfback today. He always cleared the ball quickly, including passing to Maia when she called for a surprise blindside move at the last minute - great decision making by Joshua. He never shirked a tackle and used great technique every time. he also got stuck into pushing in the mauls, helping the Mustangs to go forward which led to several tries.
All clean at the beginning of the game ... but watch what happens ...
And who says that girls don't like getting dirty - Coach Kevn gives daughter Maia a pat on the head after she slid for about a metre getting a try
A solitary figure - Joshua, wet, cold and muddy ... checking for bruises as he picks himself up
C'mon Mustangs ... PUSH

All I can say is that I have never been so happy to get back into a warm car and get home. I can also add that my car was SO muddy outside AND inside !
