Mother's Day Celebration at School

Mother's Day was spread over 2 days this year. All the boys had arrived home last week with a special invitation to their Mums to arrive at school at 1pm on Monday for a Mother-Son interactive 'exercise'. Each class was given something different to 'do' with their Mums, and Joshua's class decided that they would make pikelets with their Mum's. It was so well done - all the tables were set up outside and on each was a small gas-fired burner, pans and ingredients. 4 boys per group with 4 Mum's. Let's just say that we burnt a few of ours but we had a lot of fun and the boys really took charge!

We were then escorted back into the classroom by our sons to look at their work - they had all made us an individual Mother's Day card. Although Mrs Bell had typed them up, the boys had to write down their own message, their own words (some were very funny!).

And then to finish off the afternoon, the Mums socialised over Devonshire Teas whilst the boys had icrecreams in the quad. A truly gorgeous afternoon and it was most special to have Mr Cassie address all the Mums, in front of the boys, and recognise and acknowledge the very special importance we all play in our son's lives.

Just for you Mrs Bell, I made them with my own hands (oh lovely!)

Yummo - these don't taste bad at all (even though Josh declined the jam & cream!)
