The day arrived ... Cross Country Race Day

Josh woke up this morning - a little earlier than usual and VERY nervous. In fact, he looked out the window and was happy to see the drizzling rain because he thought that the Cross Country Race might he cancelled ! Wishful thinking Josh ... but the day cleared.
Both Mummy & Daddy went along to support. The event was incredibly well organised with warm-up exercises before the race and then a number of Wellington's top long-distance male runners came out to run the circuit with the boys.
Peter Cassie, through the loud-speaker, did the countdown ... 3 - 2 - 1 - GO ! Years, 1, 2 and 3 all ran in the same race, so altogether about 42 boys. Mummy & Daddy were very stressed ... we simply wanted Joshua to go out there and enjoy himself, try his best and also to keep running the entire way and not be concerned about other boys passing him or beating him. Our eyes were glued on him.
And he did ! He came 12th overall which we thought was amazing - but the main thing was that he started off with a smile on his face and ran across the finish line with a smile on his face. We were VERY proud of him.
